What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a revolutionary method for deep exfoliation. The surface of our skin is constantly subject to the dulling and damaging effects of every day environmental factors such as UV light, artificial heat  or cold weather  and pollution. Over time these factors cause a build up of dead and congested skin cells which lead to a lifeless, tired and aging complexion. Microdermabrasion revitalizes   the skin by removing the skin  dead outer layers, and stimulating skin renewal, to reveal more youthful looking skin.

How does Microdermabrasion work?

Diamond Microdermabrasion is a medical dermabrasion using diamond tipped wand to polish  off congestion and thicker layers  of dead skin. The diamond wand can be worked into lines and wrinkles to smooth the surface and efficiently lift dry and dull skin.

How does Microdermabrasion feel?

Microdermabrasion is a comfortable procedure with a slightly rough but not unpleasant feel.  The treatment is always expertly combined with our cosmeceutical skin care ranges for full cleanse and re-hydration of the skin, making the overall experience comfortable and bringing healthy looking skin

Why is Microdermabrasion beneficial?

Microdermabrasion is suitable for almost all skin types and can be used to treat a range of skin concerns. The gentle removal of outer layer, not only refreshes and brightens skin's appearance but also stimulates the process of cell renewal,  and the production of collagen and elastin, making this an excellent anti-aging treatment. Microdermabrasion is effective in reducing the visibility of brown spots, fine lines and wrinkles, and smoothing rough dull skin.

What Preparation and Aftercare is required?

Microdermabrasion is a relatively gentle treatment and requires no real preparation other than the thorough cleansing of the skin, which is performed during  treatment. Following treatment our therapists recommend keeping skin clean and make up free for the rest of the day, and continued use  of a broad spectrum SPF to protect against UV damage. Microdermabrasion has minimal downtime, although skin may look a little pink after treatment, most people start to notice the beneficial effects of microdermabrasion on the same day .
